March 2018- The extreme nor'easters that we as New Englanders live through, reminds all of us that winter still has a way to go. We all seem to do an excellent job clearing the snow and ice away from our mailboxes and driveways, but tend to forget one of the more important snow clearing tasks at hand. Keeping your oil fill and vent pipes clear, will allow for prompt oil deliveries keeping your home toasty warm on the coldest nights. In addition, snow and ice can impede the oil tanks ability to vent when fuel is being delivered. A simple cleared path to the fill pipe will help to guarantee prompt heating oil deliveries when your home needs them the most. Heavy snow could impact delivery of necessary fuels if driveways and paths to fill pipes and tanks are inaccessible. Further, intake and exhaust vents on heating equipment need to be clear of snow to operate safely and prevent carbon monoxide poisoning. Stay Safe and enjoy the rest of winter.
