There is an alarming amount of misinformation out there regarding heating oil. There are several state mandates that we are expecting to see introduced in the near future. Right now there is one grade of #2 home heating oil that every retail oil dealer is buying and reselling to their individual customers. This claim can be supported by going to the local wholesale fuel terminals and watching all the different companies loading their individual trucks and tankers. Everybody is delivering the same product. Any difference in products has to do with any additives that are introduced. Right now the State of Rhode Island is looking to increase the amount of the biofuel component from 5% to 10% and changing the sulfur content from 500 parts per million to 15 parts per million. So what does all of this mean for the Home Heating Oil customer?
Of course, the looming question is will my Home Heating Oil cost more? Biodiesel is not more expensive for customers. Biodiesel burns 90 percent cleaner than petroleum distillates and has more lubricity, meaning there will be less carbon build up in heating systems. Biodiesel cleans the system. Net Fuels will keep track of all the benefits and continue to provide the best innovative products at the lowest possible pricing!
